With only 13 hours to go, Gitcoin Grants (GG22) ongoing round breaks record with over 21,528 unique donors, but what is behind this remarkable achievement?

Gitcoin Grants is an initiative held quarterly that empowers early-stage builders through a combination of crowdfunding and grants opportunities.

Gitcoin Grants fund projects enhancing developer tools for Open Source Software (OSS) and Web 3. Some benefactors include Uniswap, Connect Wallet, and many more.

The fast success of Uniswap, a decentralized protocol that provides liquidity and allows users to trade digital assets, can be associated with the Gitcoin Grant they received in their early years of adoption. In September 2021 as part of Gitcoin’s Eleventh Quarterly Grants Round(GR11), Uniswap received grant funding that aided its quick success in the ecosystem.

In line with Gitcoin’s mission, these funds help projects to reduce barriers, boost efficiency, and show strong community adoption. Since its inception in 2019, Gitcoin Grants has distributed $64.8M in funding, recorded $5.2M unique donations, held over 250 funding rounds, and funded 3715 projects.
