The panel session, moderated by Dikachi Ibekwe, featured Mojeezy, a Lisk Ambassador and music artist building Streamlivr, and Violet Benson from DAO Network. The discussion centered on their journeys, challenges, and lessons learned while building Web3 startups.
Identifying Problems to Solve
Violet shared how her career as a product designer was affected during the post-COVID era. The lack of a bull run meant business slowed down. She faced issues with severance and struggled to regain clients. These challenges, coupled with the untapped opportunities in Africa, inspired her to enter the Web3 space.
For Mojeezy, the inspiration for Streamlivr came from his experience as a music creator. He noticed how difficult it was for creators to earn from their content and decided to build a platform to address this gap.
Overcoming Challenges as a Builder
Mojeezy highlighted the importance of overcoming the fear of starting. He emphasized the role of community in this process, stating that it’s vital to find people who complement your skills.
Violet discussed the challenge of aligning a vision with values. She pointed out that a strong community is crucial for building a resourceful product. “Your product must be useful and marketable,” she said.
The speakers stressed networking and community building. Violet advised aligning personally with the industry you’re building for. This ensures you can connect with your target audience.
Mojeezy encouraged participants to focus on value creation. He advised them to solve real problems rather than chasing quick profits. “This is not a sprint but a marathon. Give yourself time while building in Web3 and stay consistent,” he concluded.
