In December, 2024 Illuvium published a blog addressing some of their challenges and how they hope to curb it in 2025. The blog pointed out that one of their biggest challenges has been juggling multiple games and applications simultaneously, and by taking community feedback they decided to balance art with gameplay, and to evolve from overworld to MMO Lite.
Illuvium clarified that the change is designed to give the game potential to welcome millions of new players from across the globe. With the MMO world, rangers, Illuvials, and drones grow in power and complexity as you play. Over time, you gain access to new abilities and equipment, discover hidden areas, and learn unique combat strategies.
The MMO Lite is a streamlined, more accessible version of the traditional MMO that builds on their existing work rather than reinventing the wheel. It is as a core MMO experience without the sprawling complexity.
With the latest collaboration, Illuvium now offers AI driven strategies, powering NPCs with dynamic, intelligent behaviour and delivering a personalized player experience.
