Octant has revealed the projects selected for its Epoch 7 Climate Round and it’s an inspiring lineup of builders tackling climate challenges head-on.

This round is unique. Instead of an open call or community voting, projects were carefully vetted and selected through a layered process led by the Climate Coordination Network (CCN). The team behind CCN has years of experience running climate-focused funding rounds, having supported dozens of impactful initiatives with over $4.5M distributed so far. Their involvement added a solid layer of credibility to the selection.

The result? A curated list of 20 projects working across reforestation, clean water, regenerative communities, decentralized energy, food systems, and more. From ocean restoration in Indonesia to reforestation efforts in Ukraine and Colombia.

Here are some of the projects:

  • Bees and Trees Uganda – Incentivizing land restoration through smallholder farming to prevent landslides.
  • Blue filter Company – Affordable, plant-based water filtration tech for safe drinking water.
  • Gili Eco Trust – Reef restoration and coastal protection powered by ocean energy.
  • M3tering – Enabling communities to deploy and manage decentralized solar power on-chain.
  • Seabrick – Kelp-based building materials stronger than concrete and carbon sequestering.
  • RodovidMe – Uniting Ukraine’s ecovillages to build regenerative, self-sustaining communities.
  • Oceanus PH – Mangrove restoration and new livelihoods for coastal communities.
  • Atlantis – Builders of coordination tools for climate and social good.

Octant is using Epoch 7 as a live testbed for new mechanisms ahead of its upcoming v2 protocol. It’s a chance to explore new coordination tools and support models that could better serve high-quality public goods and the communities that power them.

The allocation window is now open, from April 11 to April 25, anyone eligible to allocate can choose how to support these projects. Throughout the epoch, the team will be hosting Twitter Spaces with selected projects. This is your chance to see things for yourself and witness these projects shill their work, so tune in Monday through Thursday next week.

Finally, to help users navigate the process, Octant has also made quick guides and explainer videos available right on the homepage of octant.app, with a guide particularly on how to allocate rewards. Whether it’s your first allocation or your seventh, it’s all broken down in simple steps.
