Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 launched by Coinbase, is expanding its creators initiative through a new Virtual Events program. The program is calling on builders, creators, and community members to take the stage and host events under the official @buildonbase account.
This initiative is designed to strengthen Base’s onchain culture by encouraging the creation of original, high-quality content. Selected applicants will receive sponsorship to produce a range of formats including
- Short-form videos,
- Technical walkthroughs,
- Vibe coding sessions,
- Live demos,
- Podcasts, and
- Livestreams.
According to Base, these Virtual Events serve as a key strategy for onboarding new developers, decentralized applications (dApps), and communities into the Base ecosystem, across global locations. They are not just for showcasing projects, they help bridge technical communities with broader audiences, helping new users practically experience what it means to be onchain.
Over the past year, Base has positioned itself as one of the fastest growing Ethereum Layer 2 chains, with over 7.2 million unique addresses and billions in transaction volume. With notable ecosystem projects like FriendTech, Farcaster, and Onchain Summer, Base continues to build momentum around accessibility, speed, and low cost onchain experiences.
This Virtual Events program builds on that vision by inviting creators to shape the narrative and showcase what is possible onchain. Interested individuals can now apply with the official form or contact the Base team directly through their X(formerly known as Twitter) account.
