Web3 Nigeria and Based West Africa announced the Base West Africa 7-Day Virtual Growth Hackathon, a first-of-its-kind challenge designed to grow Web3 adoption across Nigeria. The hackathon will run from September 22 to 29, 2025.
Over the course of one week, seven teams will be tasked with scaling seven innovative products built on Base, a blockchain that is fast, affordable, and built on Ethereum. Each team can have up to ten members, and rather than focusing on coding, participants will take on real-world growth challenges: bringing in users, gathering feedback, testing bold ideas, and driving adoption.
The hackathon is open to everyone in Nigeria, not just developers. Whether you are a student, a creator, a marketer, or simply curious about Web3, this is your chance to be part of something bigger, learn hands-on, and collaborate with like-minded innovators.
Beyond the learning experience and networking opportunities, participants will also compete for cash prizes:
- 1st Place: $350
- 2nd Place: $220
- 3rd Place: $110
- $250 shared among 4 runner-up teams
Winning teams will also earn the title of Base West Africa’s Top Growth Hackers 2025, a recognition that sets them apart in the growing blockchain ecosystem.
