Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are revolutionizing governance and collaboration. With this in mind, Great Adams, a Blockchain developer, Solidity tutor @Borderless, and co-founder of Let’s Build DAO discussed the idea of DAO at the Borderless 3.0 event in Port Harcourt.
This session explored how DAOs operate, their advantages, and the practical opportunities in the technology.
Discussing real-world examples of successful DAOs and how they empower communities to govern themselves, Great Adams shared his remarkable journey from sharing the Let’s Build DAO idea in Borderless 1.0 and how much growth they have made through the years.
Great defined DAO as a company or organization that’s governed by code on a Blockchain, rather than a hierarchical leadership system. He went on to share some significance of DAOs to include:
- Empowerment of communities (Every decision made is voted by every individual)
- Trust and transparency
- Reduced administrative overhead
- Global collaboration
- Incentivized participation
- Real-world applications
Great Adams disclosed that Let’s Build DAO is designed to empower and support digital communities around the world, raising funding for Africans and funding public interest. According to him, the startup is a collective idea brought to life by Alabo Excel, Gabriel Enaanapu, and himself in 2022.
“Majority of the tools used in Africa and built by others, and now we are ready to build tools for Africans by Africans.” Great Adams shared.
With the spontaneous growth of Let’s Build DAO, a subteam was built Let’s Build Labs, the Lazy NFT, and the Academy. The organization focuses on building web3 infrastructures around Africa.
Great Adams shared a remarkable achievement by the Let’s Build DAO team during the Lisk Hackathons.
