Speaking at the Borderless Web3 event in Port Harcourt today, Iam Etefia, marketing lead for NestWallet and veteran of the Web3 space, spoke on “Think Global, Start Local.” Drawing from his journey, he shared a roadmap for entrepreneurs striving to make a global impact while staying grounded in local roots.
Iam began by discussing the importance of purpose, which he considers the foundation of any meaningful venture. Citing ‘Purpose Driven Life’, a book that influenced him profoundly, he shared how purpose is what drives individuals to create history, not just fit into it. His journey in the Web3 space, which began in 2011, taught him that true influence is born from intention and dedication.
Curiosity, Iam Etefia explained, is a powerful catalyst for innovation. “The magic you are looking for is in the work you’re avoiding,” he noted, urging attendees to explore areas that may seem challenging or uncomfortable.
Humility and submission, he continued, are essential for personal and professional growth. Iam emphasized that success is not just about technical skills but about understanding the broader business landscape—a lesson he learned through years of working alongside colleagues from his early days.
