From October 6 to November 17, 2025, developers and innovators from around the world are invited to take part in the Polkadot Cloud Hackathon, a six-week online challenge hosted on Devpost. The group announced via its official X handle.
With a $40,000 prize pool and a mission to spark creativity, this event is designed to showcase how resilient, user-focused applications can be built on Polkadot’s powerful blockchain framework.
As an ecosystem, Polkadot is built to make the internet fairer by giving users control of their data. Through its SDKs and APIs, developers can create open, interoperable, and scalable applications that go far beyond traditional crypto projects. This hackathon is an opportunity to put those tools into action, whether through user-centric apps, new blockchain innovations, or creative experiments that explore the boundaries of Web3.
Participation is open to anyone 18 years or older, with only limited regional restrictions. The event is designed to be accessible for all skill levels, welcoming both newcomers and experienced developers. Builders can work individually or team up with others to bring ideas to life.
Submissions are due by November 17, 2025, and must include a public GitHub repository containing the project code, along with a clear README that provides setup instructions and details on the tools used. Participants are also encouraged to create a short demo video (2–5 minutes) to showcase their project in action. Entries will be judged on code quality, design, creativity, and overall impact.
Winners will share in $40,000 worth of prizes, with awards ranging from $500 to $3,000 per project, as well as global visibility within the Polkadot developer community. Beyond the cash, the hackathon offers an opportunity to gain hands-on Web3 experience, connect with like-minded innovators, and shape technologies that could transform the digital future.
Interested devs can visit Devpost, explore the resources provided, and begin building. Register here today, start building, and submit your project by November 17, 2025.
