Alabo Excel, software developer and co-founder of Let’s Build DAO (LB DAO), shared points into the project’s mission and direction during the recent Let’s Build Meet-up ConTour 2025 Event at Moment’s Event Center, Port Harcourt.
According to Alabo, LB DAO is developing an on-chain data intelligence hub, that is a platform designed to capture and analyze blockchain transaction data across Africa.
He explained this by making comparison to traditional banking systems where local bank apps keep a record of every transaction, LB DAO aims to maintain a detailed, decentralized record of on-chain activities across Africa.
Why Is LB DAO Building This?
Alabo outlined several key reasons behind this initiative:
- Lack of Transaction Records: There is a gap in comprehensive on-chain data to guide funding decisions and identify the most impactful use cases in Africa.
- Limited Accessibility and Awareness: Alabo made an example of how he visited a school in Ikot Ekpene last month, and computer science students had no knowledge of blockchain. He also confirmed that, many Web3 tools are still too complex for newcomers.
- Blind Development: Developers, especially in Africa, often create solutions without understanding the specific needs of their users. Beyond DeFi apps, Africa faces issues like unreliable electricity and poor road infrastructure, challenges Web3 can also address.
- Funding Gaps: Builders often lack the financial support necessary to scale their solutions.
To bridge these gaps, LB DAO is collecting deep data on how users interact with decentralized apps; what they’re using, how they’re using it, and why.
As a decentralized autonomous organization, LB DAO uses “lazy NFTs” to facilitate community governance, giving members the ability to vote on key decisions. Let’s Build DAO is also solving the challenge of educational barriers through the LB DAO Academy.
How Does LB DAO Measure Impact
Alabo outlined success indicators for LB DAO’s mission including:
- Increased public awareness and understanding of Web3 and blockchain.
- Wider adoption of lazy NFTs as governance tools.
- More builders gaining access to funding for their projects.
How to Get Involved With LB DAO
Interested individuals can follow LB DAO on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms. You can also register for their academy and hold lazy NFTs to participate in the community and governance processes.
