Decentralised Science (DeSci) is a growing movement focused on making research more accessible and transparent through the use of blockchain technology. Essentially, it is reimagining how scientific research is being funded, accessed, and shared.
At the Let’s Build Meet-up Contour 2025 Daniel Anomfueme, Founder of DeSci Africa, will be speaking on the “Introduction to DeSci”. This session will explore how blockchain technology can power a more inclusive and transparent scientific ecosystem, and why Africa must play an active role in that future.
He will also highlight the opportunities this model creates for researchers, students, and independent innovators across the continent. As the Founder of DeSci Africa, his work is centered on building awareness and encouraging collaboration among African scientists and developers.
With over four years of experience as a Technical Project Manager and community builder, Daniel has led projects across both tech and non-tech sectors, with a strong reputation for driving initiatives that blend structure, vision, and social impact. He currently contributes to ScrollDAO and Morpho Protocol, where he supports decentralization efforts at scale.
But his work doesn’t stop at Web3. Daniel Anomfueme, is also passionate about renewable energy, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart living. He shares insights and hacks from his personal experiences with energy efficiency and smart homes on platforms like Medium, Hackernoon, and freeCodeCamp, in order to make complex technology approachable for others.
Whether you are a builder, researcher, or policy enthusiast, this session will leave you with a clearer view on how Africa can tap into decentralized research, fund innovation independently, and unlock scientific potential using blockchain.
