Nouns Foundation Announces Writing Contest for Crypto Writers

Since its inception in 2021, Nouns Foundation has utilized its community-driven initiatives, to accelerate the growth of Blockchain, sharing an astounding 32,575 ETH (over $80 million) with hundreds of projects that have enriched the Ethereum ecosystem in the process.

The latest writing contest, powered by the innovative collaboration between Nouns and Kiwi, aims to celebrate their achievements and inspire new perspectives on the Nouns project.

Nouns’ commitment to fostering public goods and bottom-up brand building has created an ecosystem that encourages creativity and exploration. Participants will have the chance to win a total of 3.5 ETH in prizes. They will also gain visibility within the Kiwi and Nouns communities.

Contest Overview

The “Into the Nouniverse” contest runs from October 14th to November 4th, focusing on Nouns and Nouns-related concepts. To participate, simply write a post that delves into the essence of Nouns. Nouns have provided the following thought-provoking prompts as guidelines:

  • Is being ‘Nounish’ a state of mind, a cultural signal, or maybe a way to look at the world? What are the philosophies and unwritten rules that shape the Nounish identity?
  • What can Nouns teach us about turning brand building upside down, and making it open source and steered by the community?
  • From headline-making proposals to under-the-radar decisions, which moments have shaped the Nouns history most profoundly, and why?
  • How has Nouns’ approach to governance reshaped the way you think about decentralized communities, and what aspects have been most surprising or eye-opening?
  • What are the untapped avenues for Nouns to capture more value from their activities, beyond NFT mints? 
  • Can Nouns be the face of crypto? What would it mean for the industry at large if Nouns were to become a household name?

You can select any prompt or even tackle multiple ones to craft your essay.

To enter the contest, follow these steps:

  • Craft Your Post: Write an insightful article on Nouns.
  • Include a Contest Line: Add the phrase, “This post is taking part in the Nouns x Kiwi writing contest,” at the beginning of your post.
  • Choose Your Platform: Publish your entry on any platform of your choice—be it Paragraph, Mirror, Substack, or even your personal website.
  • Submit via Kiwi: Use your Kiwipass to submit your post to Kiwi.
  • Meet the Deadline: Ensure your post is submitted by November 4th at 23:59:59 CET.

Winners will be selected based on community engagement and jury evaluation, with four prizes awarded across two tracks: “Vox Populi” and “Vox Judicis.”

The prizes will be divided as follows:

  • 1st place: 0.875 ETH
  • 2nd place: 0.4375 ETH
  • 3rd place: 0.2625 ETH
  • 4th place: 0.175 ETH
