QIE Blockchain has officially unveiled QIE Hackathon 3: Build the Company, Not the Demo, signaling a bold evolution in how blockchain hackathons operate. Announced on July 16, 2026, this edition moves beyond weekend prototypes to a structured 4-month startup launch program designed for builders ready to ship production-grade applications with real users and traction.
Unlike traditional hackathons, QIE Hackathon 3 emphasizes sustainability and adoption. Participants will build directly on QIE Mainnet, leveraging its high-performance Layer 1 infrastructure; EVM and Cosmos compatibility; ultra-low fees; sub-30-minute deployments; and a full Web3 stack, including QIE Pass (identity), QIE Wallet, QIEDex, oracles, and stablecoin support.
Prize Pool and Rewards
The event offers a $17,000 prize pool, with details on distribution forthcoming. Building on the success of Hackathon 2 (which attracted over 2,000 registrations, 1,000+ teams, and 411 submissions), winners can expect not only cash and QIE tokens but also ecosystem grants, mentorship, incubation support, user acquisition help, and potential pathways to listings.
Standout projects with genuine traction may qualify for discussions around larger funding, echoing QIE’s previous signals of up to $1M ecosystem rewards for scalable applications.
Registration opens August 1, 2026. The extended build period allows teams to develop, iterate, deploy on mainnet, and demonstrate real-world utility. Tracks span DeFi, AI agents, consumer apps, commerce, developer tools, and more.
Projects must meet strict criteria: originality (no forks or AI-generated minimal-effort submissions), mainnet deployment, public GitHub history, working demos, and clear problem-solution fit.

The hackathon is open to builders worldwide, including strong participation potential from Nigeria and Africa.
